TM van Schaik, MD, graduated as a medical doctor in 2012 and subsequently specialized in general practice, completing her training in 2016.

With a passion for software development that she had been nurturing alongside her medical career, she joined a general practice in Amsterdam as a partner in 2019.

However, in 2022, she made the bold decision to shift her focus entirely to software development.

Technical Expertise

Van Schaik's first major project in software development involved mapping the MySQL data model of a legacy obstetrics information system, which serves over 30% of the entire obstetrics market in the Netherlands.

She developed a REST service to transform data from the old format into modern formats, enabling data exchange and facilitating the development of more advanced information systems for obstetrics.

Through this project, she gained extensive experience in backend technologies such as MySQL, PHP (Symfony), and Node.js (NestJS).
